Samburu Game Reserve
Samburu a magical haven of beauty on Kenya's northern frontier home to an astonishing population of wildlife including several species unique to the region like the Reticulated Giraffe Grevy's Zebra Gerenuk and the blue legged Ostrich. The Reserve is also home to lion cheetah buffalo and look out for the shy leopard lying lazily on a tree. You will also see large herds of elephant making their way to the muddy waters of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the morning or on their way up to the hills in the evening
Samburu Game Reserve and its neighbouring Buffalo Springs has recorded over 400 species of birds. Game viewing is excellent all year round. Cutting through the Samburu reserves is the Ewaso Nyiro River an irristible attraction to wildlife including large herds of elephant, crocodiles and there are sightings of lion, cheetah, leopard and much else besides.
